7 March, 2007 - 09:59 New and Actually Good Car Dealership Locator!
Locate car dealerships via Google Maps and browse area dealerships. Site utilizes vote buttons to rank area dealerships. Higher quality dealerships, based on votes, are displayed first.
After many years of the internet being around we seem to still be stuck in the same old ways of using directories to locate companies. The standard search is available along with a category browse, but it seems that few sites really put a push into actually knowing - nay - seeing where the companies are based.
The above is especially true in the car / auto industry though today I was sent a link to a new car dealership finding website that has done a superb job of the 'location' side of things. As an added bonus they are using Google Maps as their mapping solution and do a fantastic job of integrating it with a full car dealership rating and review system.

9 January, 2007 - 11:41 Gates reveals Windows Car PC software
At his pre-CES keynote yesterday, Microsoft's chairman Bill Gates announced new products and partnerships aimed at integrating PCs more tightly with users' lives. As EE Times reports, the new products include Windows Home Server, an operating system designed to "help households with multiple PCs easily connect their digital experiences." The OS will have a host of features for automated backups, centralized storage, and online file sharing. The first Windows Home Server-powered system will come out in the second half of this year in the form of HP's MediaSmart Server. As we mentioned earlier, the MediaSmart server will feature an AMD processor and AMD Live! Home Media Server certification.
14 May, 2006 - 08:45 Cameras, Mount etc...
Been busy. Mostly with trying to overcome various issues with the Nitevision/HUD project.
One being projection of the HUD, the other main challenge, glare issues with the car cameras. Waiting now on an auto-iris lense to mate to the CCD.

2 May, 2006 - 19:59 New 160W carpc power supply

Providing 160W of power, the M2-atx, have a stronger 12V rail up to 8A making it ideal for operating most P4, P4-M, Celeron, ADM systems. Low power Geode and VIA processors will work as well, leaving ample power for 12V or 5V peripherials (multiple 3.5" hard drives, CDROM, etc).
1 May, 2006 - 18:25 AUX in for original head unit
After searching, I finally found what I need: an adapter to attach PC audio to the CD changer interface of my OEM radio.
It's not cheap, but it should trick the radio into thinking a CD changer is attached.
The reason why I want to keep the original head unit are the following:
- Once removed from the car, the OEM radio becomes prety useless. It won't work in an other car model, and only after invertention from the dealer in other cars of the same make.
15 April, 2006 - 13:06 Gentoo base install
I now have a (working) basic gentoo installation.
Feel free to ask questions if you have any.
I used the following /etc/make.com settings:
# For M-10000 Nehemia
CFLAGS="-march=i686 -msse -mmmx -mfpmath=sse -Os -pipe -fomit-frame-pointer"
CHOST="i686-pc-linux-gnu"
CXXFLAGS="${CFLAGS}"
I also made use of the evtouch driver to get the USB touchscreen working:
http://stz-softwaretechnik.com/~ke/touchscreen/evtouch.html
http://linux.chapter7.ch/touchkit/mini-howto.txt
Its not callibrated perfectly, but it's very usable already.
The only problem is the device used in the configuration of X is variable. (I plan to foresee USB ports in the car to temporarily connect things: Keyboard, mouse, digital camera, ...)
